About Special Treasures in West Hempstead

We are a home away from home for your children in West Hempstead. We care for children from 6 weeks to 12 years and provide a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development right up until they are ready to take their next step.

Who We Are

Special Treasures got its start in West Hempstead in 2015 by Dr. Linda Anderson. With over 30 years of experience working with children, Linda decided to funnel her wealth of knowledge into establishing Special Treasures.

We decided to do things a bit differently here by creating a space that fosters early learning in a fun and safe environment where children from 6 weeks through 12 years can explore the world around them.

We believe our innovative approach gives children a bright and positive start in life as we encourage both exploration and discovery as well as emotional intelligence and building friendships.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is based on the combination of strong social and academic learning. Our goal is to help shape, confident, intelligent, and compassionate young people, equipping them with all the skills they will need as they grow.  By blending indoor and outdoor activities and environments in a home-away-from-home environment, we can create a space where children feel empowered and ready to learn.

Merging Teaching and Childcare

We offer a variety of programs, including daycare for infants and toddlers, preschool, and school-aged children. We also offer after-school care.

We believe that it’s never too early to start learning and that it’s vital to always present opportunities for children to learn and grow as soon as they start at our center.

By developing our programs with curriculum experts and childcare specialists, we’ve been able to hone in on what makes early education a success and created a learning program that allows our children to enter school seamlessly.
